I bought my first 110 many ago and installed FreeBSD on it. Since then it's been with me on holidays and everywhere I'd like to bring my computer without adding weight to the luggage.
At the moment it runs FreeBSD 5.3 with Fluxbox. I use it to:
- Diagnose network problems
- Download OBDII error codes from cars
- Play mp3
- PHP programming and test runs on apache.
Installation of FreeBSD is a breeze on the Libretto and there are numerous ways of getting it running. I have used my PCMCIA floppy drive and an old 3Com nic. If you have those two you can install over ftp or nfs. For my convenience I have placed the installation discs on a nfs share and I can then install / upgrade as I please.
I have used it a lot over the years and although not very quick it is very useable as long as you chose light applicatons.
It has been very stable.
I have an extra 110 for spares and I plan to paint the plastic Lamborghini orange pearl. Pictures will follow in the pimped section.
All the best!
Sagacious (yes, with irony..
