hi all,
I've had my Libretto since 2006, and whilst I was originally getting about 4 hours battery life, lately I'm only getting 2.5 - 3 hours life. I suspect that 2 years of constant use and the shelf-life of lithium packs is starting to show.
I figure if I order a new battery pack from Toshiba, they were probably made at the same time as my current batteries and will have the same shelf-life problems.
I know that there are battery repacking services available - has anyone here ever used them to repack libretto U100 batteries? Or done this themselves?
It would be interesting to see how much power can be packed into the libretto battery with the latest new lithium cells. I have a spare battery, so I'm tempted to send it off to get someone who knows what they are doing to re-pack it, or even have a go at it myself.
As far as I'm aware there was never an official external battery pack made for the libretto, although there are a range of 3rd party external battery packs that can feed in to the AC input on the laptop, but I'm not as keen on those, I'd like something that the OS can monitor.
cheers,
jethro
